If you could tell the meaning between each word.
If you could feel the silence within each comma.
If you could hear the cry behind every laugh.
If you could see the sadness behind every smile.
Would happiness cause you to question?
…
Is each word there to be explored?
Is the comma placed there to process the trauma?
Is the joke really funny? Or did it spark a feeling that was once thought to pass?
The smile, is it there to disguise the pain for a mile?
Out of all, silence is the deadliest place.
The echo that rings beyond every loud space.
Boom chi-cka boom chi-cka boom chi-cka
… (inhale)
Boom chi-cka boom chi-cka boom chi-cka
…(inhale)
Void that feels quiet yet the beat of a drum marks the heart’s race.
The eyes that water, and cry through laughter.
The body that is numb, but still moves.
The head that is blank, but constantly thinks.
The silence falls to all, yet the one with the drum.
The silence that sounds like a marching band.
Boom chi-cka boom chi-cka boom chi-cka
… (inhale)
Boom chi-cka boom chi-cka boom chi-cka
… (inhale)
Boom Chi-cka, boom.
… (inhale)
Silence of a drum
Explanation
The silence that falls into one's head can be very confusing, very miss leading. Do not let it be all that you hear, find something that makes the drum stop, that brings you peace. Find something, someone that makes the drum have a clear rhythm of the emotions being felt. Behind every loud silence is just a voice that wants to be let out, ask questions. It's okay.
